Things have been going on as usual around here. We've snapped a couple of pictures around here for you to enjoy. Wyatt goes to preschool four days a week. His favorite teacher is Ms. Lisa, and they always do such fun things there. One day they made gingerbread houses that they decorated themselves. I was so pleased when Wyatt showed me his because it had a ton of frosting, and he also just laid licorice on the top as the roof so it would be super easy to eat. He was kind enough to share with Cyrus and I. When I told him his house looked awesome, he said, "I know it is because I'm a rock star." I don't even need to add witty commentary to that story.
Speaking of Mr. Wyatt, he wasn't feeling very well a couple of weeks ago. I had to run to the store to grab a couple of things, and while we were shopping he fell asleep in the cart. Plus Cy is cute.
Calvin and Wyatt are taking karate. They like it a lot. I wish I could figure out how to upload the video. Wyatt has his own version of every move.
The White Ninja. (Calvin is actually in real life the Black Ninja. His first week he wore the white outfit, and then I washed it. And like all talented moms I shrunk it so much that it had to be handed down to Wyatt. We had to buy a new black outfit, so now Calvin wears the black outfit and is appropriately named the Black Ninja.) So end of long story = Wyatt is the White Ninja, but not in this picture. And Cal is showing you a block. It really works. I tried to attack him the other day in the kitchen, and he blocked all my moves. I am the Pink Ninja except I don't have a pink outfit. I just call myself that to add some estrogen to this place.

A few weeks, I had a girl's night out at my place for my sweet friend, Jen. She was having her baby and in place of a shower we decided to have party. I must admit, I think it was a lot of fun. We ended up at my house for chit chat and Bingo, so Noah kept the boys in our bedroom with pizza and movies. The party went on until 2 a.m. (yeah, I've still got it), and so the boys fell asleep in our bed. Noah snapped this adorable picture of them. Don't they look completely angelic? Actually Cy is fake sleeping and just about to suffocate Wyatt, and Wyatt is trying to get Calvin into a headlock. Kidding! Sheesh, you fell for that one.
Updates:
Noah - You will most likely find him doing one of the following: toiling away at the budget on our computer (one of his favorite hobbies), wrestling with The Banditos, going to work, coming home from work, or teasing (which he calls flirting with) me. He loves to crunch numbers and watch savings grow. I, on the other hand, love to find new and exciting ways to spend money. We are a match made in Heaven I tell ya. He is the yin to my yang, the frugal to my spend. This past week he has been trying to avoid food with sugar and salt. I tried to hang with the plan, but had to bail last night and eat a Bit O'Honey and some peeps. He is doing a much better job than I am.
Katie - It's always hard to update you on what I am doing because it isn't that exciting. Oh wait, I have a couple of exciting things to report: I finally got the hard water deposits on the shower door scrubbed off, I mastered the frosted sugar cookie this week, I discovered that the trick to make my hair stay curly is using 1/3 can of mousse and a handful of gel, and I loathe my vacuum cleaner and long for a Dyson. So, there you have it - - a meticulous accounting of domestic bliss. I should also mention that I love our babysitting co-op because I have been able to volunteer in Cal's class.
Calvin - He saved all of his Christmas money and his allowance money for months and bought Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS. We were quite proud of all of his saving, and he has been savoring the game (and Noah, too, thanks Cal!) I just had a parent/teacher conference this past week, and Calvin is excelling in all areas of his schooling. We feel proud of him because he is a diligent student. As hard as he works, I would still be proud because that is what matters to me - that he gives it 100%. Calvin's sense of humor is getting more and more keen, especially as it relates to his Dad. They share many an inside joke with Calvin giving big belly laughs. Calvin's fingernails and toenails grow at a crazy fast rate. Today as we were sitting on my bed, I looked down and was shocked to see his toenails. They looked like they belonged on a homeless man. I immediately hacked them down, but not before I called Guinness Book of World Records. They already had a record there and referred me to Ripley's Belief it or Not. I'll call Monday morning when they are back in the office.
Wyatt - There is a chance that he might be too big for his britches. He has appointed himself "Captain" of the other kids at preschool and decides each day what everyone else will like and/or. In the car the other day, I heard him to tell his friend, Britain, that they did not like cats they only liked dogs. Britain said okay and went along with it. Also, my friend told me today at church that she asked her son (who is in Wyatt's preschool class) if Wyatt is the boss. He said, "He thinks that he is the third teacher." There are two adult teachers, which would make him the third. So, I have to wonder, shouldn't he be getting paid for all of his hard, bossy work? I am looking forward to seeing him blossom in his upper management career. Aside from being in charge, he is also learning to read with me and being a good brother to Calvin and Cy. Plus, he is off-the-hook funny. He told me last night that he wanted to be the only one to sit beside me at church today. He said, "You sit beside the log (meaning the arm rest of the pew), and I'll sit beside you so no one else can." I can't resist that kind of charm.
Cyrus - Or should I say "Baby-dini." He can get out of his jammies so easily, even when we safety pin the zipper down. My most favorite discoveries are when he sheds not only his pjs but also his diaper - - a mother's dream!!!!! One night we heard him crying on the baby monitor in the middle of the night, which is unusual, so I went to check. He was naked as a jay bird and curled in a ball. He woke up when he peed on himself. Again, one of those joyous moments in my career. I love it all - - the midnight laundry, the midnight bath, the midnight consoling (i actually do love that part). It is second only to a midnight barf. Aside from the undressing is still the constant dressing. He knows exactly what he wants to wear, and it always involves a hat and coat. His hat is a 6 month-old baby Boston Red Sox hat. So, he perpetually looks like he is wearing a baseball hat yarmulke. Did I mention that he repeats almost everything we say, but it a much more adorable voice. He's as sweet as honey.
