Money Well Spent

I warned the boys about the those claw machines at Wal-Mart.  I told them that all they do is take their money.  "It's a waste!" I said.  Yet, they still wanted to spend their allowance on them.

It is never a good thing when a Mom has to eat her words.  And boy did I when Calvin won 5 stuffed animals with only one dollar.  Yes, that's right.  That means he picked up two at once.

I have to find a new reason to use when they ask to play the claw game.  Any suggestions?

my worst nightmare! I hope my kids never see anyone win at those machines. I will NOT let them read this post.

Same thing happened when my family moved to Vegas. My siblings and I were totally enamored with the slot machines found EVERYWHERE in that blessed city. We kept asking our dad to take our quarters and play them for us. Finally my dad decided to teach us a lesson that gambling was just a waste of money and that you rarely win. He took one of our outstretched quarters, put it in...and won. He set his jaw and walked away. We tried with futility to get him to collect our winnings. I will never forget the look on his face. SO funny looking back on it. We DID learn to never ask dad to play our $ again, and actually I've never gambled so maybe the lesson did get through. :) Sorry for the novel..just had to share. Your story totally made me laugh.

Hilarious! I actually let my kids play those games - and they haven't one once in several years. Calvin's got some special technique there.
Love Wyatt's pose - givin' a shout out to his homies:)

That's so seriously rad. I've had that talk so many time with my kids. For real though, you need to go find the machines that have the gold watches and stuff. Have you seen those? Keep your eyes peeled, he's your gravy train.

Wow, your kids are super talented!!! They are probably the only people to have ever won anything out of there.
