Late Nights
What do you do when you can't get your kids to go to bed? Should you threaten shutting the door? OR lay with them until they go to sleep? OR give them a special toy to help them stay in bed? Usually we do a combination of the previous suggestions. However, a few nights ago, I gave up and adopted the idea "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Or in our case, "if you can't get them to go to sleep, invite them down for some cookies and milk." I would say that all in all in was an effective idea. It went right along with my theory that teaching emotional eating early has great benefits ...... early on.

Your funny. I think I like the cookie idea just not sure if I want the sugar high late at night. But they sure look like it was a good choice. So can we come over for cookies late at night too? j/k
Every time I've ever done that, I always think that those are the moments my kids remember. I'm sure in their little minds they think, "I remember that time Mom let me come out of bed and eat ice cream with them". Never hurts to have your kids love you for the little things.
I'm with ya! But, I'm not an expert baker like you, so we load em up and go to dairy queen! Actually, after our baths that's where we are headed!
So did you kids go down shortly after? I love the picture of the clock. You are a much kinder mom than myself.
