Despite Calvin's best efforts, he has started to like preschool. He moved gradually from complete hatred to mild dislike to impartiality to reluctant enjoyment to happiness. When I picked him up from school today, he couldn't hold back the excitement he felt towards music time (they got to play with a piano and sing) and the sand table. He even showed me the potrait he made of himself, which is stunning I might add. Just last week he told me he didn't have any friends, and that he didn't want any. Today, however, as he left he was eagerly waving to one of the girls in his class.
I said, "Who are you waving to?"
"My friend."
"What is her name?"
"I don't know."
It's a start.

That's hilariously adorable. Josh has a tough time remembering anyone's name too. I guess what counts is the good times.
That reminds me of Brock. His kindergarte friends are always waving at him and saying "hi Brock" and then I ask Brock what their names are and he says, "I don't know". So funny.
I am so happy and relieved! When you said that it was hard to leave him unhappy, I felt the same way, remembering when my children were little, and now adoring Calvin as I do. I am glad he is enjoying it! We love you all so much.
